Jean Suter, a renowned architect in Valais. He designed the entire project \u2013 from the colour of the walls to that of the carpet, including all the furniture that still enlivens the premises today.<\/p><p>The establishment has welcomed visitors to the Haut-Plateau for many years, contributing to the growth of the resort and its tourism in the 20th century.<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0century.<\/p><p>In 2019, he became\u00a0<em>At Elsy's<\/em>\u00a0when the founders' granddaughters take over. She met Grand-Papa there, and together they embarked on a somewhat crazy project: building a hotel on the high plateau, well outside the tourist centre of the time.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n    <p class=\"elsy-p\">\r\n      \u00abNothing ventured, nothing gained\u00bb \u2013 that was already his motto. They opened their establishment in 1961. The years have passed, but Elsy is still there, true to his post. Winning this award is the culmination of 60 years of sharing, a huge recognition for our work, but also, and above all, for that of Grandma Elsy.\u00a0<\/p><p>Almost 60 years after it opened, the original furnishings, the \u00absixties\u00bb decor, and the modernist architecture by Jean Suter bear witness to a carefully preserved history.
